Casualty Claims Intern - Summer 2026
Are you a pre‑law or law student who thrives in a fast‑paced setting where organization, multitasking, and critical thinking are essential? Do you bring initiative and a constructive, professional mindset to your work?
What You'll Do: As a Casualty Claims Intern, you will support a variety of functions within the casualty claims process, gaining hands-on experience with real claims work and insight into Farm Bureau Financial Services' culture and operations. Your responsibilities will include monitoring key performance metrics and preparing reports, conducting file reviews for accuracy and compliance, legal research, assisting with vendor engagement and contract maintenance, and helping develop and refine processes to improve team alignment and efficiency. You will also provide system support through basic troubleshooting, assist with litigation-related tasks as needed, and take on additional responsibilities to support the Casualty Claims team.
Our internship program has an 80/10/10 approach, meaning that 80% of your work time will involve performing tasks and working on projects within your hired work area, 10% will focus on exposure to other areas within your assigned division to gain more corporate experience, and the final 10% will be spent job shadowing other departments, networking and taking part in many other events where you'll have the opportunity to learn even more about our culture and work environment.
This opportunity is a great way for you to get your foot in the door and spend your summer gaining entry-level claims/legal/insurance experience, as well as general corporate real-world exposure.
