Dancoby Construction is hiring a skilled Carpenter/Tradesperson to support high-end residential remodeling projects across NYC. We're open to a strong generalist (carpentry + a little of everything) or a true specialist (finish carpentry, drywall, painting, doors/windows, etc.). If you're reliable, detail-driven, and can produce clean work in occupied homes, we want to meet you.

Dancoby Construction is a full-service renovation company in New York with 20+ years of experience and a strong reputation for customer-focused, thoughtful renovations. We collaborate closely with homeowners and project partners to deliver beautiful, functional spaces, often in complex city environments where logistics matter as much as craftsmanship. We're a small, tight-knit team, and this role is a key hire. 

You'll work on active remodels and punch lists, supporting projects from rough work through final finishes. You'll collaborate with the owner/project team and help keep jobs moving with solid craftsmanship and a professional presence around homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled carpentry and trade work on residential remodeling projects
• Install and repair interior trim, doors, hardware, and cabinetry (as applicable)
• Support demolition, framing, and rough carpentry when needed
• Handle punch list items and finish corrections with a quality-first mindset
• Protect finished surfaces and keep the site clean and safe, especially in occupied homes
• Communicate job needs, material shortages, and field discoveries to the team
• Adapt to the realities of NYC projects: tight spaces, deliveries, building rules, and shifting schedules
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential remodeling as a carpenter or skilled tradesperson
• Strong finish awareness and pride in clean, detailed work
• Comfortable working in occupied homes (respectful, clean, professional)
• Can handle either a broad scope or bring deep strength in at least one area (finish carpentry, drywall, painting/finishes, doors/windows, etc.)
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in active job-site conditions
• Solid tool competency and safe work habits

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-end/custom remodeling
• Multi-trade capability (drywall, tile, paint, cabinet install, etc.)
• Strong NYC jobsite experience (building protocols, logistics, tight spaces)
• Valid driver's license (helpful, not always required depending on role)

Compensation & Perks 

• Job Type: Full-time, W-2 Employment 
• Pay Range: $28 to $35 hourly, based on experience.
• Clean, organized, professional jobsites
• Opportunity to grow into Lead Carpenter or Field Supervisor roles

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, daytime hours
• Occasional overtime based on project needs
