Claims Adjuster / Specialist (Cargo Claims)
Remote (must live in TN, OH, NY, GA, or CO)
Pay: $22.47/hr
We’re hiring a remote Claims Adjuster / Specialist to support cargo claims for a major transportation/logistics operation. This assignment is 30 days with the potential to extend. Standard hours are 8:00am–5:00pm with some flexibility.
What you’ll do:
• Review cargo claim documentation to determine coverage and verify shipment details
• Investigate freight‑related claims by contacting shippers, receivers, drivers, and any involved parties
• Assess damage, loss, or shortages based on carrier policies, shipping contracts, and freight regulations
• Determine liability and recommend appropriate settlement amounts
• Prepare clear, accurate claim reports and maintain thorough documentation
• Communicate findings to customers, carriers, and internal teams
• Negotiate settlements within established authority limits
• Use claims management systems to track, update, and process cargo claims efficiently
What we’re looking for:
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to investigate and resolve issues independently
• Experience in claims, logistics, transportation, or customer service preferred
• Ability to work with multiple systems and manage a high volume of claims
• Knowledge of freight terms, cargo liability, or shipping processes is a plus (but not required)
Education & experience:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2 years of experience in cargo claims, logistics, insurance, or customer support
