CAREER SERVICES OUTREACH COORDINATOR
This is a full-time, year-round position in the Career Services Department. This position will report to the Director of Career Services.
Under the direction of the Director of Career Services, the Career Services Outreach Coordinator leads the external-facing career development efforts, building and maintaining relationships with employers and alumni to expand opportunities and overall outreach. This role attends career fairs, trade shows, industry tours, and student and alumni activities to strengthen partnership between Perry Technical Institute and the skilled trades.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed in a business office environment and off-campus events. Travel is required. Use of a personal vehicle may be necessary; mileage reimbursement is provided based on point-to-point mileage within the state. Reimbursement is determined based on the distances shown on the latest Department of Transportation Official State Highway Map or other standard highway mileage sources. The hours of the position when off campus will flex, depending on events and appointments, averaging 40 hours per week. On campus the schedule is Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, including a 30-minute paid lunch. Working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently is a must. Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs. may be required.
This is a non-exempt, full-time regular position. Overtime may be required as necessary.
SALARY RANGE: $27 - $29 Per Hour
The job posting includes the expected hiring wage range while the full wage scale for this position can be calculated by starting with the hiring range and increasing the wage three percent annually over the duration of employment. Increase in wages depends on approval of an annual budget and is not guaranteed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Business or related field (e.g. HR, Marketing, or Education); equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in career services, employer relations, sales or workforce development or a closely related field, including trade-specific experience relevant to this role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, relationship-building, and strategic audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be flexible, able to work evenings and weekends and take overnight trips as needed.
- May be required to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of Perry Technical Institute; must possess a working vehicle, hold a valid driver's license, and produce proof of insurance.
- Must be willing to consent to a drug test.
- Must be able to read, speak, and effectively communicate in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with industries related to Perry Technical Institute programs and technical trades.
- Understanding of workforce-aligned education.
- Comfortable initiating professional conversations and building relationships with diverse audiences.
- Experience using database programs and managing objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop working knowledge and understanding of the objectives, requirements and content of all programs offered by Perry Tech in order to assist with employment.
- Assist students and alumni in job-seeking efforts by identifying and distributing appropriate opportunities for their course of study.
- Assist with career-related workshops and presentations.
- Initiate first communication contact and maintain proactive outreach with potential hiring organizations to generate interest and engage new partners.
- Conduct consistent follow-up with key employers, unions and industry leaders to promote Perry Tech and increase the number and quality of placement opportunities for students and alumni.
- Make a high volume of outbound calls, voicemails, and personalized emails to targeted prospective employers from provided lists and self-sourced leads.
- Interact, engage, and build relationships with students and alumni.
- Track and analyze student engagement, employment outcomes and employer partnerships data to identify growth areas and develop strategies for expanding opportunities.
- Review graduate outcome data to evaluate employer and alumni engagement, to guide departmental tasks and objectives.
- Engage alumni in career development through mentorship, events, and outreach.
- Collect, secure and monitor required alumni employment verification records.
- In coordination with the Director of Career Services, organize, promote, and assist with the Employer Expos with focus on attendance list.
- Assist with on and off campus events, such as Employer Expos, student activities, Open Houses, industry trade shows, etc.
- Have good attendance and the ability to work well with others.
- Other duties as assigned.
