Career Coach for Youth 171 - Perth Amboy, NJ

Salary - $55,000 per year with Sign On Bonus $5,000

Responsibilities:

• Seeking a full time Career Coach to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide services to young adults (ages 18-24) in a transitional living program.
• Provide targeted employment and education case management in Somerset and Middlesex counties; supporting youth in developing goals related to post-secondary education, career development, and obtaining and maintaining a living wage.
• Form and maintain relationships with local employers, educational programs, and community resources to assist with employment-linkage; development of formal employer partnerships required.
• Influence, teach, motivate, engage, and support youth as well as be comfortable networking in the field, talking with potential employers, and passionate about supporting young adults in reaching their educational and employment goals.
• On-call and evening hours availability are required as part of the position.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficient in oral and written communication; bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Experience working in career development, job placement, or casework employment.
• Knowledge of education and employment resources for young adults in Middlesex and Somerset Counties is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Expected to travel within Middlesex and Somerset Counties.
• Flexible work schedule with some evenings required.
