Position Overview
Capital Planning Specialists support the development, execution, and monitoring of capital plans that align business strategy, regulatory requirements, and financial performance. The role focuses on analyzing capital needs, stress scenarios, and resource allocation to ensure financial resilience and strategic flexibility.
This position requires close collaboration with finance, risk, treasury, strategy, and senior management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support capital planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes across business lines
Analyze capital adequacy, funding needs, and balance sheet utilization
Build and maintain capital models, forecasts, and scenario analyses
Support stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and downside risk assessments
Monitor capital metrics, limits, and key performance indicators
Assist with regulatory capital planning and internal governance requirements
Partner with finance, risk, treasury, and business teams on capital-related initiatives
Prepare capital planning materials, dashboards, and reports for senior management
Identify inefficiencies, constraints, or optimization opportunities in capital usage
Support strategic initiatives such as growth planning, acquisitions, or restructuring
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of capital markets, financial statements, and balance sheet mechanics
Experience or exposure to capital planning, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury, or risk management (preferred but not required)
Strong analytical and modeling skills with high attention to detail
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial modeling tools, SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus
Ability to manage complex data and multiple assumptions across scenarios
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Comfort collaborating with senior stakeholders
Strong interest in financial strategy, capital optimization, and risk management
