Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Two (2) years experience required License: New York State License (or able to obtain prior to start) Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Must-Have: - Interventional Radiology experience - VIR Certification preferred Description: Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning. Consistently produces radiologic images of diagnostic quality. Works cooperatively with team members to resolve issues expediently. Displays flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability when dealing with customers. Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patient rights in all interactions. Instructs and prepares patients for examinations. Assists the Radiologist during procedures. Demonstrates competence and proficiency in operating all equipment. Reports malfunctions to management. Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner. Uses time between procedures to assist others or with room turnover. Understands the role in maintaining medication security for authorized personnel only. Demonstrates competency in providing healthcare services to all age groups. Demonstrates competency in interpersonal relationships with all age groups. Demonstrates competency in using hospital information systems, radiology information systems, and PACS. Participates in performance improvement activities when warranted. Maintains confidentiality using personal passwords and patient care modules. Answers telephone inquiries of a technical nature while maintaining good phone etiquette.
