Job Summary
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for maintaining a purchasing database and managing non-key component purchases. You will also assist with purchasing activities for key components. This is a full-time contracted position with the potential to convert to a permanent role based on business needs, headcount availability, and individual performance.
Responsibilities
- Obtain quotations and review bids for non-key components (C parts).
- Place purchase orders, expedite, and de-expedite materials according to MRP schedule changes.
- Follow up on material shortages and initiate second sourcing when necessary.
- Validate lead times for materials.
- Process RTV (Return to Vendor) materials.
- Resolve invoicing issues and address discrepant material problems.
- Negotiate prices for assigned items or commodities.
- Manage PPV (Purchase Price Variance).
- Oversee ECO (Engineering Change Order) management.
- Manage excess inventory.
- Implement cost reduction strategies for materials.
Qualifications
- Education: B.A. or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of material experience.
- Language: English proficiency required; Mandarin is a plus.
- Skills:
- Academic functional skills needed to perform assigned tasks.
- Computer literate.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Collaborative skills.
