Buyer II – Supply Chain
Summary:
The Buyer II is a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for procuring materials efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time while maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Place and manage purchase orders, including rescheduling, expediting, and push-outs.
Communicate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve discrepant material issues.
Generate and maintain open order reports.
Coordinate with Production, Receiving, Warehouse, and other internal teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Lead projects to improve material flow processes (e.g., Kanban, bulk issue).
Support the Persimmon discrepant material process.
Travel to supplier locations as required (approx. 20%, domestic/local).
Qualifications:
3–5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
Proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and MRP processes.
Experience managing inventory and non-inventory items across multiple suppliers.
Knowledge of material flow processes (Kanban, bulk issue, etc.) and supplier issue resolution.
Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word).
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
