Buyer II

Location: Dracut, MA
Employment Type: Exempt | Full-Time | 100% Onsite

Pay Range:$83,000 annually

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

 

Position Summary
The Buyer II is responsible for planning and purchasing materials to support manufacturing operations while balancing cost, quality, delivery, and inventory levels. This role works closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely material availability and strong supplier performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and purchase materials and components to meet production demands
  • Respond daily to MRP requirements and forecasts
  • Manage supplier relationships, pricing, contracts, and performance
  • Expedite shortages and resolve past-due material issues
  • Identify alternate materials and suppliers as needed
  • Control inventory to minimize surplus and obsolete materials
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
  • Manage assigned suppliers and place daily purchase orders

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of buying experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Visual ERP strongly preferred (shorter learning curve)
  • Proficient with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

 

Work Environment

  • Office-based role
  • 100% onsite (no remote or hybrid)
