Pay Rate: $60 – $70 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Core Business Hours

About the Opportunity
The Commercial Treasury Services team is seeking a highly experienced Business Systems Analyst (Lead) to support the build-out of new treasury capabilities within a leading financial institution.
This role focuses on defining, documenting, and leading system requirements for application development and integration initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong banking domain knowledge, system integration experience, and leadership capability to guide cross-functional delivery teams.

Role Overview
As a Lead Business Systems Analyst, you will plan, manage, and lead the delivery of system and integration requirements, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and frameworks.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and vendors to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions supporting Commercial Treasury workflows.
Approximately 50% of time will be spent in meetings with internal business and technical stakeholders.
The contractor will have access to customer data.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Functional Analysis
  • Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications, including non-functional needs
  • Write BDD-style requirements with precise acceptance criteria
  • Develop user stories in Jira and support refinement sessions
Systems Integration & Technical Documentation
  • Lead integration requirements across APIs, batch file transfers, and message queues
  • Document internal and external system interfaces
  • Create artifacts including data flow diagrams, process models, and message mapping documents
  • Partner with vendors and engineers on API behaviors, data formats, and exception handling
Delivery Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as BSA Lead, guiding and mentoring other analysts
  • Facilitate requirements workshops
  • Determine cross-functional impacts and align technology teams
  • Support Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
Testing & Production Support
  • Assist with scenario definition and defect triage
  • Maintain requirements traceability
  • Support Level 3 investigations and root cause analysis
  • Provide business context during production issue resolution
Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to standards, templates, and documentation practices
  • Promote quality, scalability, and reusability in requirement delivery

Required Qualifications
Experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in system build and integration projects
  • 3+ years of experience in the Commercial Treasury domain
  • Financial services industry experience required
  • Strong understanding of banking workflows and system integrations
Technical Skills
  • Experience with:
    • APIs (REST/SOAP), batch file transfers, message queues
    • JSON/XML payload analysis
    • Postman (API inspection/testing)
    • Mainframe integration patterns and flat file exchanges
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, or equivalent tools
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices
  • Strong documentation skills, especially vendor-facing and BDD-style requirements
Methodologies
  • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Experience leading requirements workshops and integration initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience building treasury capabilities within banking organizations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently while leading others
