The Role

The Business Development Representative (BDR) drives growth for Bank of New England by developing new deposit relationships and commercial loan leads in the Southern New Hampshire area (Londonderry to Manchester). This role focuses on achieving deposit sales goals through proactive outreach, community involvement, and relationship management. The BDR exercises discretion and independent judgment in business development and client interactions.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Generate new deposit accounts and lending referrals through prospecting, outside calling, and marketing initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospects, customers, and community leaders
  • Represent the bank professionally in all customer and community interactions
  • Participate in community events and networking opportunities to increase bank visibility
  • Exercise independent judgment in prioritizing prospects and business opportunities

Customer Service & Client Support

  • Provide high-quality service to clients to foster retention and growth
  • Assist with product onboarding, training, and ongoing client support
  • Collaborate with internal teams and lenders to ensure seamless client experiences and resolve complex issues

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Track sales activity, referrals, and community engagement
  • Contribute ideas to improve business development strategies and operational processes
  • Exercise judgment in analyzing sales data to recommend improvements
  • Follow all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML and OFAC

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in customer service, sales, or business development in banking.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with deposit sales, commercial lending, or business development preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDIC, FFIEC, and state banking regulations preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in decision-making.
  • Customer-focused, friendly, and professional demeanor.
