Job Title: Business Development Representative, Home Care Admissions
Location: Houston, TX (Northern Region)
Compensation: $50,000–$52,000 base salary + commission
Additional Perks: Gas stipend available

Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Representative on behalf of a growing healthcare organization in the Houston (North) market.

This role is responsible for growing patient census responsibly by building strong referral relationships, educating the community on services, and coordinating the front end of client intake through care activation. You will serve as the primary relationship-builder and referral engine, operating at the intersection of business development, intake coordination, and community partnerships.

This is a field-based role requiring local travel to hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout North Houston.

Key Responsibilities Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, Directors of Nursing (DONs), discharge planners, social workers, and other key referral sources.

  • Conduct daily in-person visits to hospitals and medical facilities to support referral growth.

  • Generate referrals and drive admissions through proactive outreach, cold calling, and networking.

  • Serve as a trusted resource and ambassador within the healthcare community.
Marketing & Community Outreach

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase service awareness.

  • Lead educational presentations for healthcare professionals and community partners.

  • Represent the organization at local events and networking opportunities.

  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
Intake & Admissions Coordination

  • Conduct initial client intakes and referral processing.

  • Guide families and referral partners through the admissions process with empathy and professionalism.

  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless care activation.

  • Ensure timely documentation and accurate data entry within CRM and documentation systems.
Documentation & Reporting

  • Track KPIs including admissions volume and referral activity.

  • Maintain detailed records in CRM systems and digital workflows.

  • Produce measurable outcomes of 10–15 admissions per month (~200–300 monthly billable hours added).

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare marketing regulations and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within home care, home health, hospice, or healthcare.

  • Direct experience working with hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, or medical facilities.

  • Demonstrated success generating referrals and increasing patient admissions.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and referral sources.

  • Strong computer literacy and comfort using CRM platforms, documentation systems, and digital tools.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet sales quotas.

  • Experience collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to coordinate admissions and care.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel locally throughout Houston.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $50,000–$52,000 base salary + commission
