Healthcare Business Development Representative (Hospice & Community Partnerships)

Vitality Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Representative (Entry Level) to grow and strengthen referral partnerships across the local healthcare community.
This is an excellent opportunity for:

Position Overview
As a Business Development Representative, you will manage and grow a defined territory by building strategic referral partnerships with:
- Assisted Living and Independent Living communities
- Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs)
- Hospitals and discharge planners
- Physician offices and specialty clinics
You will serve as the face of Vitality Hospice in the community — driving awareness, education, and referral growth while upholding the highest standards of compliance and compassion.
This is a field-based, territory-focused healthcare sales role with structured activity goals and performance benchmarks following onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
Support Patients, Families & Professional Partners
- Work within scope to support patients, families, and professional partners
- Collaborate with management during daily-weekly check-ins to ensure marketing activities align with patient and referral-source needs.
- Provide updates and same day response to internal and external inquiries to support timely access to care.
Develop & Maintain Community Relationships
- Conduct consistent on-site visits (targeting 6–8 daily once fully ramped) with SNFs, ALFs, hospitals, and physician offices
- Maintain a rolling list of 20–30 key accounts with strategic relationship-building plans
- Actively engage in assigned territory during standard business hours (9am–5pm)
Strengthen Referral Source Partnerships
- Complete weekly follow-up touchpoints with active referral sources
- Schedule regular referral meetings (goal of 8–10 per week after onboarding period)
- Maintain proactive, HIPAA-compliant communication with discharge planners, case managers, physicians, etc.
Deliver Exceptional Customer Service
- Respond to referral partner requests same day
- Document outreach and actions in CRM
Execute Marketing & Education Initiatives
- Support monthly marketing campaigns and program rollouts
- Track initiative outcomes (attendance, follow-ups, leads generated) within 24 hours in CRM
Deliver Education & Engagement Activities
- Conduct a minimum of 4 educational touchpoints per month (in-services, luncheons)
- Coordinate regular staff appreciation and engagement activities within priority accounts (goal of 6–8 per month)
Identify Growth & Outreach Opportunities
- Prospect and develop at least 3 new referral relationships per month
- Contribute to achieving monthly territory growth goals
Represent the Vitality Brand
- Attend 1–2 networking events or community functions per month
- Ensure marketing materials are professionally distributed and maintained
Track Performance in CRM
- Log all visits, meetings, and outcomes daily
- Update account strategies weekly
Participate in Meetings & Training
- Attend required team meetings and company events
- Complete onboarding and ongoing professional development
Demonstrate the Hospice Philosophy
- Model compassion, respect, and integrity in all interactions
- Maintain compliance with organizational standards and regulatory guidelines
Ideal Background
We welcome candidates with:
- Experience in healthcare, senior living, hospice, home health, SNF, or medical office environments
- Entry-level sales, customer service, or account management experience
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Comfort with local travel and field-based work
- A desire to grow a long-term career in healthcare business development
Healthcare marketing or hospice sales experience is a plus, but not required.
