SUMMARY
The Sales / Business Development Director, will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing go-to-market strategies, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders across residential and commercial sectors. Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, operations, and executive leadership to drive revenue growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute strategic sales plan to drive new business growth for fiber internet services in residential, commercial, and enterprise markets.
- Lead all aspects of the sales cycle – from lead generation and prospecting to closing and contract negotiation.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, including new housing developments and underserved business areas.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure service delivery aligns with sales promises and customer expectations.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to continuously refine go-to-market strategies.
- Drive performance metrics, manage sales pipeline, and report on KPI’s and forecasts to executive leadership.
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of 6-8 sales professionals (Inside and Outside sales).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 7+ years of experience in business development, direct sales, or sales leadership in the telecommunications industry with a focus on fiber optics and FTTH.
- Deep understanding of fiber optics principles and network architecture.
- Strong understanding of FTTH technology, deployment models, and competitive landscape.
- Familiarity with market dynamics and emerging technologies in broadband.
- Proven track record of building and closing high value deals in residential and business broadband markets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with technical and marketing teams.
- Strong business acumen with a data- driven approach to sales growth.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events up to 15% or as required.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, telecommunications, engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in sales/ business development roles within fiber optics, telecommunications, or broadband industries.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
