We’re recruiting on behalf of a specialty chemicals manufacturer seeking a Business Development Manager to support growth across its commercial portfolio. This role is based near Derby, CT, and candidates must live within approximately one hour driving distance.
This position blends account management, new business development, and pricing strategy in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and is well suited for someone who wants real ownership and impact.
What You’ll Do
• Manage and grow existing specialty chemical customer accounts
• Develop new business opportunities within targeted markets
• Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and renewals
• Analyze market trends, customer demand, and sales performance
• Partner with internal technical and operations teams
• Support sales strategy and revenue growth initiatives
What You’ll Bring
• Hands-on experience in commercial or technical sales within chemicals
• A track record of growing accounts and winning new business
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently
• Background in business, chemistry, or a related technical discipline preferred
Compensation is flexible and will depend on experience.
