JSR is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst with deep experience in HR data, people analytics, and people-related business processes. This role will partner closely with Human Resources, Data Engineering, Analytics, Governance, and business stakeholders to translate people business needs into scalable data solutions, high-quality datasets, and actionable insights.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, business acumen in workforce and HR domains, and the ability to bridge business requirements with technical delivery in a regulated enterprise environment.
- Partner with HR, Talent, Compensation, Workforce Planning, DEI, and Finance stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear functional and data requirements.
- Elicit, document, and manage business requirements, data definitions, source-to-target mappings, and acceptance criteria for people data initiatives.
- Analyze HR data domains including (but not limited to): employee demographics, headcount, attrition, hiring, compensation, performance, learning, and organizational structures.
- Support data product development across the people data ecosystem (data pipelines, dashboards, metrics, data quality rules, governance artifacts).
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and product owners to ensure requirements are technically feasible and aligned with enterprise data standards.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency; perform data profiling, reconciliations, and UAT testing.
- Define and maintain business definitions, KPIs, and metrics for people analytics in partnership with data governance teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR reporting automation, self-service analytics, and data usability.
- Support regulatory, audit, privacy, and data security requirements related to employee data.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences through documentation, presentations, and working sessions.
- Drive continuous improvement in business analysis practices and data maturity within the people data domain.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, HR, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role in an enterprise environment.
- Strong experience working with HR data, people analytics, or workforce data.
- Solid understanding of HR processes and people business concepts (e.g., recruiting, onboarding, compensation, performance management, workforce planning).
- Experience gathering and documenting business and data requirements (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, data dictionaries).
- Proficiency in SQL and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses, and data integration pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Experience working in financial services or highly regulated environments.
- Familiarity with HR systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, ADP, or similar platforms.
- Experience with data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of privacy and compliance requirements related to employee data (PII, GDPR, etc.).
- Experience supporting cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Databricks).
