POSITION SCHEDULE:
Fridays, 4:30pm to 9:00pm
Saturdays, 12:00pm to 4:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the guidance and supervision of the Membership Director, the Building Supervisor is responsible for promoting a positive, professional and welcoming atmosphere. The Building Supervisor must possess the competence and confidence to supervise a safe environment for all members, program participants, volunteers and staff. They will be responsible for the overall supervision of the building and grounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 21 years of age.
Alarm/Emergency Procedures training within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention training within 90 days of hire and biannually thereafter.
Strong communication, decision making and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to remain calm and authoritative in high-pressure situations
Customer service experience preferred
Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All Building Supervisors are expected to fulfill the following functions:
Serve as the on-duty decision maker for facility operations during assigned shifts.
Ensure staff are at assigned posts and performing job duties adequately; address gaps and communicate concerns to appropriate supervisors.
Conduct routine facility tours and complete building checks to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readiness.
Open and/or close the facility following established security and operational procedures.
Respond to incidents and emergencies following EAP procedures; complete accurate documentation and report to appropriate supervisors.
Work with the Sr Director of Operations and serve as a liaison with outside authorities during emergencies or disturbances if needed.
Enforce YMCA policies using professional judgment and YMCA voice.
Resolve membership concerns and elevate unresolved issues as needed.
Assist working at the Member Service Desk during peak times or staffing shortages.
Serve as Staff on Duty at satellite locations during rental group times as assigned.
Report maintenance needs and ensure proper care of equipment and supplies.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities, Building Supervisor will:
Pursue ongoing trainings related to this position.
Attend Member Service staff meetings.
Attend required abuse risk management training.
Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to perform all physical demands of the position including walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting
Must be able to move freely and quickly throughout the Y facility.
Communicate effectively with people; and use a computer.
