You’ll be joining a team that values collaboration, accountability, and creative problem-solving, where your expertise in government finance, accounting methods, and budget analysis will be recognized and rewarded.
What You’ll Do
- Perform government and department budget analysis, reviewing and monitoring allocations and expenditures.
- Implement and track department budgets to ensure compliance and effective use of resources.
- Conduct financial analysis, policy review, and budget reporting for senior leadership.
- Provide support to department staff on budget systems, financial reporting, and automated tools.
- Assist in forecasting, trend analysis, and expenditure controls.
- Prepare reports and presentations that inform decision-making.
- Apply your expertise in finance, accounting, and government budgeting to improve operational efficiency.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience implementing and monitoring department budgets, preferably in local government, public sector, or related finance roles.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, accounting, and financial practices, with prior exposure to government finance policies.
- Experience with ERP or financial software (Lawson/Infor, Hyperion, or similar preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Flexible schedule — including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.
