Bridge Construction Inspector

What You'll Do:
- Inspect, observe, and document construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
- Perform mathematical calculations and field measurements to verify completed work and support payment processes.
- Maintain daily inspection reports detailing contractor labor, equipment usage, and material quantities received and verified.
- Conduct on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches as required.
- Assist with design-related tasks, technical analyses, and field duties for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Support the development of construction plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, bid documents, and quantity takeoffs.
- Coordinate material testing and inspection activities with contractors and client partners to ensure adherence to schedules and contractual obligations.
- Aid in organizing tasks and responsibilities for field inspection personnel.
- Participate in the review and assessment of change order logs, requests for information (RFIs), and cost proposals.
What You'll Need:
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-5 years of construction inspection experience (ODOT preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to obtain required certifications and pass appropriate qualification tests within specified time frames.
- This field position primarily operates in outdoor environments, which may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
- Physical demands may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, balancing, coordination, and occasional sitting or operating a company vehicle.
- May require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
