Brake Press Operator

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal components according to blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with precision bending, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake machines to bend metal parts to required angles and dimensions
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine bending requirements
• Select proper tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job
• Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, and angle gauges to ensure quality and accuracy
• Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain product specifications
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working condition
• Maintain a safe and organized work area while following all safety procedures
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a press brake with metal bending required
• Experience with CNC press brakes and programming is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong math and measurement skills
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and materials
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Skills

• Experience with precision sheet metal fabrication
• Familiarity with different tooling and bend calculations
• Basic computer skills for machine interface or programming

Work Environment

• Manufacturing or fabrication shop environment
• Exposure to noise, metal materials, and industrial equipment
• Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
