About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established nonprofit organization with a long history of serving the community, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their collaborative and values-driven finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission-focused organization while maintaining a healthy work-life balance in a supportive, professional environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in nonprofit or fund accounting. They’ll be responsible for managing daily accounting activities, supporting month-end close, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Process vendor invoices, payments, and deposits in accordance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Assist with journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and leadership to ensure timely, accurate financial information.
- Assist with special projects, data tracking, and reporting as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit or multi-entity environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; able to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
