Summary
We're looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented technician who takes pride in keeping production running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you'll be at the heart of our blow molding operations—setting up and fine-tuning machines, ensuring product quality, and jumping in to troubleshoot issues as they arise. You'll play an important part in improving processes, running trials, and helping the team get the most out of every machine. Job duties:
- Start-up-shutdown machines, as needed, due to scheduling, repairs or emergencies.
- Perform product quality checks per the required frequencies.
- Responsible that all raw materials for the molding processes are present and no run outs and correct materials per part/customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment and report any unsafe conditions immediately. Stop-call-wait
- Inform maintenance/supervisor of all machine repairs that are outside of your job responsibilities.
- Responsible for required adjustments needed to fulfill the product specifications (i.e.: cycle time, wall thickness, etc.)
- Answer machine alarms and investigate for root cause.
- Perform mold trials, material trials and continuous improvement trials and documenting and communicating in required format.
- Provide feedback from trials for dialing in each mold-machine to its optimal cycle time and overall processing.
- Communicate shift issues to other applicable departments and team members.
Requirements:
- 1 year of Blow Mold Process Technician experience
- Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to use basic hand tools
- Knowledge of plastic processing and troubleshooting
- Suggest ways to improve efficiencies and safety of our work and its environment.
- Knowledge & ability to contribute to continual improvement activities, LEAN manufacturing & overall process improvements.
- Ability to work successfully alone and as part of a team and can positively adapt to changing requirements, deadlines and priorities
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer skills
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a preemployment screening
