Biomedical Engineering Technician III / FT 8am - 4pm (NSUH)

1.
Ensures
the repair and maintenance of patient, lab and research equipment in accordance
with manufacturer and hospital specifications.
Ensures that new equipment meets specifications.
2.
Performs
preventive maintenance including calibration and operator/patient safety tests
on a regular scheduled basis to ensure proper operation and a safe patient
environment.
3.
Provides
technical assistance and guidance to equipment users and to less experienced
members of the Biomedical Engineering Department.
4.
Tests
and evaluates equipment being considered for purchase. Travels to institutions possessing this
equipment as needed.
5.
Oversees
proper installation of new medical equipment.
6.
Supervises
outside vendor repair and calibration to ensure quality of workmanship.
7.
Maintains
proper documentation of work performed to be used by outside agencies.
8.
Performs
related duties, as required.

Essential Functions
Qualifications
· AAS in Electronics, Computer repair Technology or Military equivalent, required. Prior related experience, preferred.
· Minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible related work experience to ensure familiarity with calibration techniques and proper maintenance and high level repair of equipment, required.
· Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), preferred.
