Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Mental Health Counselor Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Mental Health Counselor to join our team full-time. This is not a remote position. In this role, you will provide mental health support and therapy to individuals, couples, youth, and families seeking counseling services. Your fluency in both English and Spanish will enable you to effectively communicate with and understand clients from diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities: 1. Conduct Comprehensive Mental Health Assessments: Perform initial evaluations to gather pertinent information about clients' mental health history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. 2. Provide Individual and Group Counseling: Offer evidence-based therapy to clients using various therapeutic approaches tailored to their unique needs and cultural backgrounds. 3. Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to establish clear and measurable treatment goals and develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate appropriate interventions and therapeutic techniques. 4. Deliver Culturally Sensitive Care: Demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity, ensuring therapy is provided in a culturally sensitive manner that respects clients' values, beliefs, and backgrounds. 5. Conduct Therapy Sessions: Facilitate counseling sessions, maintaining a safe and supportive environment while actively engaging clients in the therapeutic process to promote self-awareness, emotional growth, and positive change. 6. Monitor Client Progress: Regularly assess and evaluate clients' progress towards treatment goals, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes and client satisfaction. 7. Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Coordinate and consult with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive and integrated care for cli 8. Maintain Accurate Records: Document all client interactions, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and any relevant information required for legal and ethical purposes. 9. Stay Updated on Best Practices: Stay informed about the latest research, advancements, and trends in the field of mental health counseling, seeking professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. Qualifications: 1. Master's Degree: Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. Candidates working towards licensure are also eligible. (must be registered with DORA) 2. Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience providing counseling services, with a focus on treating trauma from mild to severe. 3. Bilingual: Fluency in both English and Spanish, with exceptional oral and written communication skills in both languages. 4. Clinical Skills: Strong clinical skills and a thorough understanding of evidence-based counseling theories, techniques, and interventions. 5. Cultural Competence: Commitment to providing culturally sensitive care and an understanding of cultural diversity. 6. Professional Skills: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities. 7. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage a caseload and maintain accurate records. 8. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport and establish therapeutic relationships with clients in a compassionate and nonjudgmental manner. 9. Prefer candidate who is EMDR or ART certified. Position Details: Therapy Focus: The goal of our therapy services is to stabilize clients and provide them with longer-term support through group therapy. We are not crisis responders. -Interdisciplinary Team: Work in an interdisciplinary team of caseworkers and other behavioral health professionals. -Client Sessions: This position requires meeting with clients in back-to-back sessions.
