The Bilingual Consumer Collector is responsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
- Contact customers with past-due automobile loans via phone, email, and written communication to secure timely payments.
- Provide courteous, clear, and professional service in both English and Spanish.
- Review account histories, verify customer information, and document all collection activities in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate customer circumstances to establish reasonable payment arrangements, extensions, or workout plans.
- Educate customers on account status, payment expectations, and the potential consequences of delinquency.
- Escalate accounts for repossession, skip tracing, or legal action when necessary, following internal guidelines.
- Maintain individual performance standards related to call volume, recovery goals, quality assurance, and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal departments—including Loan Servicing, Customer Service, and Recovery teams—to resolve account issues.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in collections.
- Knowledge of automobile lending, consumer credit, and collection laws (FDCPA, UDAAP, state regulations) is a plus.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with collection systems, CRM platforms, and basic computer applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
