Summary
The Bartender / Cook is responsible for preparing and serving food and beverages at Overlook Golf Course, Overlook Campus, or other Township food service locations. This role ensures compliance with R.A.M.P. regulations, maintains cleanliness, and delivers excellent customer service. Responsibilities include taking orders, preparing food and drinks, serving patrons, busing tables, and processing payments.
Essential Functions:
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, always maintaining professionalism.
- Communicate food and beverage menu options to customers and answer any related questions.
- Prepare and serve food and drinks utilizing appropriate food/drink handling techniques.
- Safely operate the food and beverage cart on Overlook Golf Course and within the Overlook Community Campus, as needed.
- Utilize Point-of-Sale (POS) computer systems for order processing and payment collection.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as a grill top, deep fryer, toaster oven, convection oven, and panini press.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance for scheduled shifts.
- Responds to any safety situation in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and enforce policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time and intermittently.
- Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, push items overhead, occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Ability to talk, hear, and see.
- Occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of basic math, addition, subtraction, etc.
- Knowledge of government food handling and sanitation regulations including National Restaurant Association ServSafe Certification
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for kitchen equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of department policy, procedures, and work rules.
- Knowledge of State Liquor Control Board regulations for food service establishments including RAMP Certification
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years of bartending experience preferred.
- Serv-safe Certified preferred
- RAMP Certified preferred
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- RAMP Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Must be able to work the schedule as described
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have reliable transportation
