Position Overview
The Banquet Manager oversees all front-of-house operations with a focus on banquets and special events at The Abbey Inn & Spa. This role is responsible for ensuring outstanding guest experiences, managing team development, maintaining financial controls, and optimizing operational efficiency. The F&B / Banquet Manager ensures the seamless execution of events while upholding Meyer Jabara Hotels' standards of service excellence and associate engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage FOH operations, with primary responsibility for banquet service and event execution.
- Coordinate with culinary and service teams to ensure flawless execution of events and daily operations.
- Oversee setup, service flow, and breakdown for all banquet functions.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and safety regulations.
Team Development & Engagement
- Recruit, train, and mentor banquet staff, promoting professional growth and development.
- Provide ongoing coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations to team members.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and associate engagement in line with Meyer Jabara Hotels' values.
Guest Experience & Satisfaction
- Ensure every banquet and F&B experience delivers exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Address guest feedback promptly and implement improvements to enhance service quality.
- Collaborate with Sales, Catering, and Culinary teams to customize offerings for events.
Financial Management & Budgeting
- Manage budgeting, financial controls, and cost tracking for banquet and F&B operations.
- Oversee menu pricing, beverage programs, and revenue management.
- Maintain the checkbook and financial records related to banquet operations.
- Monitor labor, food, and beverage costs, implementing strategies to maximize profitability.
Planning & Execution
- Work closely with Sales, Catering, and Culinary teams for menu planning and event coordination.
- Ensure smooth execution of special events, weddings, and group functions.
- Maintain inventory levels and manage vendor relationships for supplies and beverages.
Compliance & Standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, food safety, and alcohol service laws.
- Stay informed of industry trends, guest expectations, and service innovations.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in F&B management or banquet operations, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of banquet and event operations, beverage programs, and menu pricing.
- Ability to manage multiple events, teams, and operational responsibilities simultaneously.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
