Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. WE LOVE OUR WORK.:
The Banquet Assistant Manager assists the Banquet Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising banquet and catered events.
This position ensures events are executed to company standards by leading banquet staff, coordinating with internal departments, and delivering exceptional guest service.
Assist in the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet and catered events.
Supervise banquet staff to ensure service standards, cleanliness, and professionalism are maintained.
Ensure event setups are completed according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), including room layouts, linens, décor, and food and beverage service.
Coordinate with Culinary, Sales, Stewarding, and Facilities to ensure seamless event execution.
Greet clients and guests; address concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Assist with scheduling, staffing levels, and break coverage to meet business needs.
Monitor service quality and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards.
Assist with inventory control of banquet equipment, supplies, and linens.
Support cost controls, labor management, and accurate event billing.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized banquet operation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business education preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage supervisory experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in basic computer applications and event management systems.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job may or may not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Responsible for staff development and training programs.
- Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
- Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
- Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
- Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
- Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).
