We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Paralegal to join our team in a dynamic hybrid role. In this position, you will play a key role in supporting attorneys across a broad range of matters, including bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, loan workouts and restructurings, commercial litigation, real estate, and transactional/closing work. Responsibilities include drafting and preparing legal documents and pleadings, conducting UCC and lien searches, assisting with depositions, and coordinating trial preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of pretrial and post-trial litigation processes, excels in legal document management, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive legal support in pretrial and post-trial litigation processes.
  • Prepare for depositions and trials by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, and ensuring that all necessary materials are in order.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct UCC and lien searches and manage the process of writs garnishment.
  • Utilize legal research tools such as lexis and westlaw to support case preparation.
  • Cite check and shepardize briefs to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal citation rules.
  • Handle closing transactions, including preparing and reviewing documents, coordinating with all parties involved, and ensuring that all legal requirements are met.
  • Draft forbearance agreements and other related documents.
  • Perform bates stamping and other document management tasks.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to ensure efficient and effective case management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Paralegal certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in bankruptcy and creditors' rights.
  • Strong knowledge of pretrial and post-trial litigation processes.
  • Experience with deposition and trial preparation.
  • Proficiency in drafting pleadings and other legal documents.
  • Experience with legal document preparation and management, including bates stamping.
  • Strong knowledge of lexis and westlaw.
  • Experience with closing transactions.
  • Ability to cite check and shepardize briefs.
  • Experience with UCC and lien searches and writs garnishment.
  • Ability to draft forbearance agreements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard business technology.
