Job Details
This role focuses on building and scaling the backend infrastructure that powers a rapidly growing platform. The engineer will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to develop reliable distributed systems and deliver production-ready services that support ongoing growth.
Location: New York, NY 10001 · On-site · (1 day remote) No travel required
Platform Engineering Responsibilities
· Design and develop scalable backend services
· Build and maintain distributed systems supporting production applications
· Participate in architecture and technical design discussions
· Troubleshoot complex platform issues across services and environments
· Collaborate with product, support, and customer teams to deliver new capabilities
· Evaluate and introduce new frameworks or technologies when beneficial
· Write secure, production-ready code aligned with industry best practices
· Maintain high documentation standards for systems and services
Technical Background
· 5+ years backend engineering experience
· Distributed systems development
· Advanced Python development
· Cloud platform experience (AWS preferred)
· Relational database experience (PostgreSQL preferred)
· Strong computer science fundamentals
· Experience debugging complex system bottlenecks
· Ability to independently deliver projects from concept through deployment
· Clean code practices and technical debt management
· Java exposure is a plus
