4th Grade Teacher – AXL Academy

AXL Academy, a PK–8 public charter school in Aurora, CO, is seeking a passionate and dedicated 4th Grade Teacher to join our team. This full-time, salaried position plays a vital role in supporting our mission of fostering academic growth, character development, and social equity through engaging, standards-based, and expeditionary learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction aligned with Colorado Academic Standards and AXL's Expeditionary Learning model.

• Build a classroom culture that emphasizes equity, inclusivity, collaboration, and character development.

• Use assessment data to monitor student progress, inform instruction, and support academic growth.

• Collaborate with grade-level and content-area colleagues to plan lessons, projects, and fieldwork.

• Communicate effectively with families to foster strong school–home partnerships.

• Participate in professional learning, school events, and community-building activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and valid Colorado teaching license (or ability to obtain).

• CLDE certification (required for teachers hired 2021–22 or later).

• Experience teaching elementary students and differentiating instruction to meet diverse needs.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Expeditionary Learning (EL Education) or project-based learning.

• Training in restorative practices and trauma-informed instruction.

• Bilingual or multilingual skills.
