Schedule: Monday-Friday
Pay Range: $25.00-$50.00 per hour

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring a skilled A Level Diesel Technician for a busy, well-equipped shop in Cumberland, RI. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday role (yes, your weekends are actually yours) with strong hourly pay, excellent benefits, and earning potential over $100K+.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines on everything from F-250s to semi-trucks

• Perform advanced troubleshooting on Cummins, Duramax, Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, Powerstroke, and more

• Complete brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs (the jobs that actually require skill)

• Handle preventive maintenance and trailer repairs

• Diagnose and repair aftertreatment and emissions systems

• Work efficiently without cutting corners — quality still matters here

• Collaborate with foremen and teammates to keep jobs moving and customers happy

• Keep your workspace clean enough that you can actually find your tools

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician

• Strong background across light-, medium-, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles

• Proven diagnostic skills (parts changers need not apply)

• Experience with major diesel platforms: Cummins, Duramax, Detroit, CAT, Powerstroke

• Ability to work independently and stay productive

• Must have your own tools (and know where they are… most of the time)

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• ASE certifications are a plus

Compensation & Benefits
