Nucor Corporation is hiring an Automation Technician in Ghent, KY to support industrial automation systems within a steel manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for designing, programming, and troubleshooting automation and electrical systems. If you have an associate’s degree in automation or a related technical discipline, PLC programming experience, industrial network knowledge, and strong electrical troubleshooting skills, then we are interested in you.

Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in automation or related technical discipline
- Industrial network experience
- PLC programming experience
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and following electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electric motors
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues in electrical cabinets and peripheral equipment
- Strong commitment to initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- AutoCAD experience for creating automation drawings
- Advanced knowledge of AC, DC, and Servo Drives
- Experience designing, servicing, and troubleshooting control systems ranging from electromechanical devices to high-speed production machines and PLCs
- Ability to manage automation projects with minimal supervision
- 3+ years of experience with Siemens PLC systems, including programming, diagnostics, and system integration
Job Duties:
- Design, install, program, test, and troubleshoot automation and electrical systems
- Support division safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives
- Diagnose and resolve automation system issues to minimize downtime
- Maintain and improve control systems and industrial machinery
- Train teammates on automation systems and equipment
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across automation and electrical processes
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards
