Join a leading custom plastic injection molding operation located near Chicago, IL as a vital contributor to their automated systems team. Your role will encompass maintaining and enhancing automated machinery to uphold seamless production processes. Expertise in robotics, PLC systems, vision technology, and connected high-volume manufacturing devices will be essential.
### Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation and fine-tuning of robotics, PLC systems, sensors, and pneumatic setups.
- Execute routine and emergency maintenance tasks for automation and related machinery.
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing units to boost process stability and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic system issues.
- Aid in the initiation and integration of new machinery and system upgrades.
- Develop and update documentation for software, wiring diagrams, and physical layouts.
- Educate technical and operational staff on safe usage and basic problem-solving for automated machinery.
- Seek continuous improvement opportunities to reduce machine downtime and enhance productivity.
### Requirements
- Completion of an Associate’s degree or technical certification in fields like Industrial Automation or Mechatronics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of three years' experience with programming or maintaining automated factory equipment.
- Proficiency in PLC system programming and fault finding, preferably with Allen-Bradley systems.
- Familiarity with integrating robotics systems such as Fanuc or ABB.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret complex schematics and technical guides.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on collaborative problem-solving and quality enhancement.
- Experience with injection molding technology required.
