Job Summary:
The Auditor will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax obligations. This role supports the audit team through audit testing, workpaper preparation, and financial analysis while ensuring compliance with reporting and procedural standards.

This position operates remotely, supporting East Coast business hours, and requires strong attention to detail, communication skills, and experience working within structured financial environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist audit team with audit testing and workpaper preparation.
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Assess compliance with reporting and procedural standards.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets; prepare reports comparing budgeted vs. actual costs.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare accounting forms and manuals; direct bookkeeping personnel as needed.
- Analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
- Participate in internal meetings (approximately 20% of time).
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related financial discipline required.
- 3–5 years of financial and/or accounting experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on audit experience.
- Experience handling sensitive financial and customer data.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Advanced degree in a financial discipline.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 5–7 years of financial and/or accounting experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong audit experience (minimum 3 years).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking ability.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with audit software and accounting applications.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and company accounting regulations and procedures.
Additional Skills:
- Budget analysis and financial forecasting.
- Tax computation and compliance reporting.
- Recordkeeping system documentation and implementation.
- Internal stakeholder interaction and reporting.
