We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Audit Manager to join our team in the Mortgage industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to apply their skills and knowledge in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. This role offers the flexibility to work 100% remotely, or from our offices in New York City or Walnut Creek, CA, according to your preference.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Audit Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and overseeing all aspects of the audit process, including planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up activities.
2. Evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management systems.
3. Identifying areas of non-compliance, potential risk, and operational inefficiencies.
4. Providing expert advice and guidance to senior management on audit findings and recommendations.
5. Developing and implementing audit strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
6. Leading and mentoring a team of auditors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
7. Liaising with external auditors and regulators, as required.
8. Staying abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in auditing and mortgage lending.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification CPA is required
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, preferably within the mortgage industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and audit methodologies.
4. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to the mortgage industry.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
8. Proficiency in using audit software and other computer applications (e.g., MS Office, data analysis tools).
9. A high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
