Job Summary
Join our team as an Associate Project Manager II, where you will play a crucial role in reviewing and ensuring compliance with New York State Fire and Building Codes and the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) throughout various phases of capital projects. This position is based in the vibrant and dynamic city of New York, NY, known for its rich cultural diversity and bustling urban environment.
Responsibilities
- Review capital projects from pre-design through closeout to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Analyze project drawings and narratives related to Master Plans, Scopes of Work, and design phases, providing written feedback as necessary.
- Participate in design review meetings to confirm ADA requirements are fully integrated into project designs.
- Conduct construction acceptance and maintenance inspections for Fire Code and ADA compliance at rehabilitation sites.
- Ensure adherence to State Fire and Building Codes, ADA Accessibility Guidelines, and applicable contract documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Project Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration with at least two years of relevant experience; OR
- High school diploma (or equivalent) with at least six years of relevant experience.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in areas such as code enforcement, accessible design, plan review related to fire department operations, energy conservation, or site inspections.
- Experience must include service in a supervisory capacity.
Licensing Requirements
- No licensing requirements.
Special Skills and Training
- OSHA 30-hour certification must be completed prior to working on or near wayside areas.
- Demonstrated knowledge of building materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Successful completion of track safety training for NYC Transit, Metro-North Railroad, or Long Island Railroad, as applicable.
- Must obtain New York State (NYS) Code Enforcement Official Certification before starting work.
Additional Requirements
- Candidate must provide personal safety boots that meet all applicable safety standards at no cost to the client.
