Position Summary:
The Associate Sourcing Manager plays a key role in supporting Oatey’s direct material sourcing strategy across raw materials, components, and packaging used in manufacturing. This position bridges the gap between tactical sourcing execution and strategic category management, ensuring cost competitiveness, quality performance, and supply continuity. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive sourcing initiatives that support new product development, cost savings, and sustainability objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for assigned direct material categories (e.g., metals, plastics, resins, chemicals, or packaging).
Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost-reduction and innovation opportunities.
Lead RFXs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
Monitor commodity market trends and assess impacts on material cost and supply availability.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Product Management and Operations to identify sourcing options that meet technical and commercial requirements.
Supplier Management
Manage day-to-day supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, consistent quality, and cost performance.
Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance improvement activities.
Partner with Quality and Operations to address supplier non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
Lead supplier business reviews and support the development of supplier scorecards and KPIs.
Cost & Risk Management
Support cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis for assigned materials.
Track and report cost savings, inflation mitigation, and value engineering initiatives.
Identify potential supply chain risks and collaborate on mitigation plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with New Product Development teams to source materials for new products and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
Coordinate with Planning, Logistics, and Manufacturing to ensure supply continuity and efficient inventory management.
Support sustainability initiatives, including sourcing recycled or environmentally preferred materials where applicable.
Partner with Engineering, Product Management and Quality to trial alternative materials/ suppliers for cost reduction initiatives.
Process & Systems Improvement
Contribute to continuous improvement of sourcing processes, tools, and systems.
Utilize ERP (SAP) for supplier, PIR and spend management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date sourcing documentation and data.
Knowledge and Experience:
3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain—preferably in direct materials within a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturing partners.
Strong understanding of direct material supply markets and cost drivers.
Effective negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office products.
Ability to collaborate across functions and influence decisions.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field required, or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.

Compensation Range for the Position:
$63,281.00 - $80,683.50 - $98,086.00 USDTarget Cash Profit Sharing for the Position:
8.00%Offer amount determined by experience and review of internal talent.
