Summary:
The ideal candidate is physically capable and can thrive in a hands-on, routine-driven cage wash environment. Ideal applicants will have experience in warehouse, production, manufacturing, or other physically demanding roles and be able to follow SOPs, retain training quickly, and work safely around cage wash equipment. Strong punctuality and consistent attendance are critical, as is the ability to meet a 7:00 AM onsite start time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate animal husbandry-related equipment such as cage wash, autoclave, laminar air flow cabinets, and other equipment.
- Routinely wash, autoclave, and prepare caging and equipment.
- Provide care for laboratory animals, primarily rodents.
- Provide husbandry and perform cage change procedures.
- Perform and report daily health observations, including handling and restraint of laboratory animals.
- Maintain and organize laboratory spaces for the success of research using 5S and lean management principles.
- Provide supplies and support for investigators conducting scientific experiments.
- Process equipment through cage wash, change cages, clean facilities, and perform health checks.
- Associate degree; OR High school diploma / GED and 2 years of experience; OR Certification that is directly related to the role and 2 years of experience.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, use of hands, walking, bending, kneeling, sitting, and occasionally moving materials up to 50 pounds.
- Desire to be a team player in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to follow SOPs, retain training, and work safely.
- Schedule: 7 AM - 3:30 PM
