POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Reporting to EnFin’s Head of Credit Risk and Analytics, the Associate Director of Credit Portfolio Management is an enterprise leader responsible for the end-to-end consumer credit risk and portfolio management function across EnFin’s loan and lease/PPA platforms. This role provides strategic and operational leadership over credit policy, underwriting strategy, portfolio performance management, and credit risk governance. The position manages the design, execution, and continuous evolution of EnFin’s consumer credit framework, ensuring that credit risk decisions are analytically rigorous, scalable, compliant, and aligned with the Company’s growth, profitability, and capital objectives. The role partners closely with teams across Product, Sales, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Capital Markets to enable performance transparency across the organization.

This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA, San Francisco, CA, Santa Clara, CA, Teaneck, NJ, with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with company policies and procedures. Remote may be considered in exceptional cases

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Credit Strategy & Underwriting
  • Manage the implementation of consumer credit risk management policies, standards, and procedures across lending and lease/PPA business lines. 
  • Act as a champion for loss mitigation, delinquency management, and portfolio stabilization initiatives. 
  • Design, test, and implement credit underwriting strategies to drive prudent growth. 
Portfolio Performance & Oversight
  • Analyze portfolio-level and asset-level performance to continuously improve underwriting and risk-management strategies. 
  • Define opportunities to improve recovery performance of defaulted assets. 
  • Reduce delinquency and credit losses on high-risk loans through detailed account analysis and advanced collection strategies. 
  • Assess delinquency and loss to identify credit and non-credit patterns 
  • Define opportunities to improve recovery performance of defaulted assets. 
Enterprise Collaboration
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Servicing partners to implement data-driven strategies aimed at reducing delinquency and losses.
  • Drive alignment and transparency of credit performance across Sales, Operations, Product, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Report risks, trends, and mitigation plans to senior leadership and servicing partners.  
Team & Organizational Leadership
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team of credit risk, analytics, and policy professionals.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness, encouraging teams to challenge the status quo.
  • Serve as a point of escalation and decision making for complex credit situations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, engineering, or equivalent experience with 8-10 years of professional work experience including;
  •  8-10 years’ of progressive work experience in consumer risk, portfolio management, underwriting, and analytics.
  • 4+ years’ experience in solar, renewable energy, or specialty finance.
  • 3+ years of people management and team leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical ability including SQL.
  • Experience leading and developing a team while being the main point of escalation assisting with problem-solving and providing real time solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present credit strategy and performance to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and deliver results under tight timelines. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience supporting capital markets, warehouse facilities, or investor-driven credit requirements.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
