Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a broad spectrum of immigration cases, including: Non-immigrant visas (e.g., H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-2), Employment-based and family-based permanent residency (PERM, I-140, I-485), Humanitarian relief (asylum, waivers, detention defense), Consular processing and naturalization
- Handle client counseling, documentation preparation, and submission to USCIS, U.S. Department of State, and Immigration Courts
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, appeals, and policy arguments for complex cases
- Collaborate cross-functionally with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to maintain service excellence
- Stay current on changing immigration law and policy; participate in continuing education and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing sessions and client webinars
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (New York preferred; co-counsel opportunities elsewhere)
- 2+ years of experience in immigration law, with exposure to both individual and corporate immigration matters
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills; capable of preparing persuasive filings under tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities
- Capable of managing a diverse caseload independently while collaborating as part of a mid-size team
