Job Details
We’re hiring a Litigation Associate to join a busy and growing Texas civil litigation/insurance defense practice. This is a strong opportunity for an attorney who wants to be in a hands-on litigation environment where you’ll gain real courtroom and case-handling experience — not just research support.
You’ll support a wide range of matters including:
Insurance defense / general liability
Commercial & business disputes
Premises liability
Construction litigation
Employment-related disputes
Products liability
What you’ll be doing:
Manage assigned litigation files in collaboration with partners (with increasing independence as you ramp up)
Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
Prepare case strategy materials including evaluations, summaries, and client status reporting
Handle written discovery (drafting responses, objections, and requests)
Conduct legal research and develop persuasive written arguments for motion practice
Assist with and/or take depositions, including preparing outlines, exhibits, and witness prep
Support mediation/arbitration preparation, including demand/position statements and key exhibit organization
Participate in trial prep such as witness prep, exhibit lists, pre-trial filings, and hearing preparation
Coordinate with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel in a professional and responsive manner
What we’re looking for:
Civil litigation experience (insurance defense is a plus but not required depending on background)
Strong writing skills for motions and discovery
Ability to stay organized across multiple deadlines and files
Comfortable communicating with clients and working in a fast-paced litigation practice
