The Aerospace & Defense Equity Research Analyst will help analyze a wide portfolio of 40+ publicly traded companies spanning commercial aviation, defense contractors, supply chain players, emerging space technologies, and next‑generation mobility. The team also conducts due diligence on private companies preparing for potential public listings.

Description
This is an opportunity for someone energized by complex industries, national security dynamics, and fast‑moving information cycles. The ideal candidate combines intellectual curiosity with strong quantitative skills, an understanding of financial markets, and enthusiasm for the aerospace and defense landscape.
You will work closely with senior and junior analysts across the full research process-from idea generation to presenting to clients. Responsibilities include:
Research & Analysis
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses
- Produce industry reports, company notes, and initiation coverage pieces
- Create and refine data sets that support the team's broader research output
- Track sector developments, defense budget trends, geopolitical events, and company‑specific catalysts
Industry Engagement
- Attend management meetings, conferences, and conversations with sector experts
- Cultivate relationships with industry participants and company contacts
- Gather differentiated insights using both traditional and nontraditional information sources
Client Interaction
- Participate in client calls, presentations, and events
- Communicate key takeaways clearly and concisely, especially when analysts are traveling
Additional Responsibilities
- Support pricing, structuring, and execution analytics when needed
- Respond to client inquiries, maintain various logs, and manage data quality
- Contribute to written deliverables that include complex quantitative components
Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (majors in business, engineering, hard sciences, or math strongly preferred)
- 3-5 years in equity or credit research (sell‑side or buy‑side), investment banking, or related fields
- Experience or interest in aerospace, defense, industrials, or national security domains
Skills & Capabilities
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel proficiency
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Comfortable working with industry databases and conducting deep-dive research
- Strong understanding of accounting, economics, and macro/policy influences
- High attention to detail, ability to juggle multiple projects, and a strong work ethic
- Genuine interest in the markets and in following company fundamentals
Job Offer
$140,000 - $180,000 base salary, plus bonus.
