Job Summary

Identify data needs for the people team and people-focused teams across Medline, understand specific requirements for metrics and analysis, and build efficient, scalable data pipelines to enable a science-driven people function. Design and maintain AI/ML data infrastructure that powers intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and AI-driven insights across the organization.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure cloud services.

  • Design and implement data pipelines for AI/ML workflows, including model training, fine-tuning, evaluation, and inference.

  • Build and manage data infrastructure supporting AI capabilities using Azure AI Foundry, including integration with Azure Cosmos DB for high-throughput, low-latency data access.

  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.

  • Implement ETL/ELT processes to collect, transform, and load structured and unstructured data into Azure environments.

  • Leverage Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration with cloud and AI services.

  • Develop and maintain data quality frameworks including validation, profiling, lineage tracking, and drift detection for AI workloads.

  • Build and optimize vector search, embeddings storage, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using Azure Cosmos DB and related services.

  • Work with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, Azure Fabric, and other Azure tools to support analytics, business intelligence, and AI initiatives.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to operationalize models and support data-driven initiatives.

  • Work as a data provider for different parts of the organization, ensuring reliable and timely data availability.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for performance optimization and reliability.

  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and responsible AI practices.

  • Document processes, workflows, data architectures, and solutions for future reference.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services (Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics).

  • Experience building data pipelines that serve AI/ML systems.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation, and ML data preprocessing

  • Experience with Azure Fabric

  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.

  • Working knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB for data storage and retrieval.

  • Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry and Azure AI/ML services.

  • Understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing principles, and AI data lifecycle management.

  • Understanding of ML concepts such as feature engineering, data labeling, and model training pipelines.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience:

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI.

  • Experience with Talend or similar ETL/integration tools.

  • Experience with or willingness to adopt Databricks for large-scale data and AI workloads.

  • Familiarity with vector databases, feature stores, or embedding management for AI applications.

  • Experience with LLM data pipelines (tokenization, prompt engineering data curation, RAG architectures).

  • Knowledge of data versioning and MLOps tools (MLflow, DVC, or similar).

  • Understanding of cloud data security and governance practices.

  • Experience with real-time streaming data pipelines for AI inference

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$73,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
