Job Title: Assistant Professor, Petroleum EngineeringEmployer: Montana Technological University, which is part of The University of MontanaWork Location: Butte, MontanaJob Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Petroleum Engineering, including well drilling and well completion engineering. Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Develop an externally-funded research program and supervise graduate research projects. Perform university and professional service at different levels. Utilize petroleum software (including PHDWin, Petrel, ERA, and PLC software) and petroleum lab equipment (including flow loops, gas analyzers, porosity/permeability measurement, and drilling fluid testing/mixing equipment) and other tools, skills, technologies, and standards in carrying out assigned duties.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Primary Education Requirements: Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related field (requirements completed by start date).Other Special Skills or Requirements: Must hold a valid Professional Engineer License or Engineer Intern License. Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in Petroleum Engineering.
