Position:

The Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University invites applications for two (2) nine-month, tenure track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. These nine-month positions are designed to support the College’s Business Analytics and Information Systems degree programs. The effective date of employment will be August 2026.


About the Department & Programs:
The Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems at the Harbert College of Business is home to the nationally ranked undergraduate program in Business Analytics and a thriving undergraduate, master’s, and PhD program in Information Systems. The department also offers graduate certificates in Information Systems, Cyber Security Management, and Business Analytics. The faculty supporting these two programs consists of an Eminent Scholar and 14 additional tenure track faculty, five lecturers, and one person dedicated to the professional development of business analytics and management information systems students. Faculty actively publish in top-tier journals and engage in premier conferences. The department houses advanced computing infrastructure to support high-performance computing. Responsibilities: Successful applicants are expected to engage in high-quality and impactful research publishable in top-tier journals, to achieve teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to provide appropriate service to the department, college, and university. In addition, candidates are expected to contribute to the collegial and intellectual environment of the department by working with other faculty members, advising Ph.D. students, and participating in service-related activities.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, Decision Sciences/Management Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field upon start date. Additional qualifications include:

  • Evidence (or potential of the development) of a strong research record based primarily in Management Information Systems or Analytics.
  • Evidence of teaching and/or research interests in Management Information Systems or analytics.
  • Evidence of the ability to teach various courses in Management Information Systems or business analytics programs at all levels, especially courses of a more technical nature.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment.
  • Excellent written, organizational, and communication skills are required.
