Position Summary
- Under direction of the Nurse Manager, is delegated certain responsibilities and authority for managing a nursing unit. These responsibilities are coordinating, evaluating and improving nursing care and assisting the Nurse Manager in promoting safe, cost effective, quality patient care.
- Assigns patient care to staff.
- Acts as liaison between the patient, family and physician.
- Develops leadership/managerial role.
- Participates in Service Excellence Program.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Graduated from an accredited Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, or higher.
- BSN preferred.
Licensure:
- Current unrestricted RN license required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI) may be required based on unit specialty.
Experience:
- Two to three years of clinical nursing experience. Specialty experience may be required based on unit/department (e.g., OR, ICU, ED).
- Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred.
Preferred Requirements:
- Candidates with a BSN are required in Magnet-designated facilities, where professional nursing practice standards emphasize baccalaureate preparation for nurse leaders, including interim roles.
Pay Range
Pay range - $43.40 - $59.68

- Primary Shift: Rotating, will discuss during interview
- Benefits and Commitment Bonus eligible
- This fulltime role follows a rotating schedule, with hours divided among clinical duties, administrative leadership responsibilities, and unit-based support. Flexibility is essential, as leadership coverage is required across shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on operational needs.
