The Assistant General Manager shall have a demonstrated track record of successful leadership managing a restaurant/bar operation.
· Strong proficiency with Toast POS (to include: XtraCHEF, Sling, and Payroll) or similar packages.
· Successful background managing personnel in the restaurants and bar industry.
· Experienced coordinating and bringing cost effective entertainment solutions to the business.
· Sound business and financial acumen needed to make intelligent business decisions.
· Competency in reading and interpreting business analytics and reports.
· Assist with Recruiting, hiring, and training efforts for all bar and restaurant staff.
· Oversee and enforce standards to ensure kitchen staff meets VDH standards. This includes compliance to all VDH and ABC requirements and procedures.
· Develop, monitor, and enforce a daily checklist for opening and closing activities. This shall include monitoring and conducting a “Deep Cleaning” at a minimum of once per month.
· Conducting and/or supervising weekly inventory for both food and beverage requirements. Inventories will be conducted using best practices to minimize food waste and avoid excess to needs inventory.
· Assist with scheduling employees to ensure shifts have the proper coverage while avoiding costs associated with excess staffing. Labor percentage rates will be a key metric used in evaluation of scheduling performance.
· Respond to all social media postings in a timely and professional manner.
· Promoting the business and implementing practices that attract new customers.
· Retain repeat and regular customers by maintaining a welcoming and appreciative culture.
· Work with management to foster a culture of job satisfaction and commitment to Service, Quality & Family.
· Monitor and put in place processes and procedures that improve KPI’s that have been established by management.
· Coordinate cost effective entertainment that brings in profitable business.
The primary role of the Assistant General Manager is to support management in leading the business as a profitable, premier food, beverage, and entertainment establishment. Service, Quality & Family is the cornerstone of the business. The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for supervising the kitchen, bar, server, and support staff of the business. The position is a full-time role and required to work on site. The position requires a high level of reliability, competence, commitment, and business acumen. While some flexibility in working hours is anticipated, the AGM is generally expected to be on site during business hours, typically 11:00am – 8:00pm Wednesday through Sunday. It is also an expectation that the AGM participates, as necessary, in off-hour related business activities such as inventory and food delivery management.
