Job Summary
The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager oversees the Food and Beverage department of the hotel including restaurant, lounge, bar and banquet operations andservices. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for ensuring labor and quality standards are upheld and assists with establishing a positive work environment, delivering exceptional guest service and administering policies and procedures established by the company and the hotel brand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees all day-to-day operational activities of the department
- Oversees the food and beverage department including wait staff, bartenders, banquet staff, and other related team members including supervisory authority to interview, select and set the pay of team members; discipline team members; make formal termination recommendations; and investigate and adjudicate complaints
- Maintains personal connections with guests, clients and community organizations to encourage guest loyalty
- Supervises food & beverage team members with efforts relating to recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, performance management, counseling and other team member relations issues
- Maintains knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform any position in the department
- Assists in preparing the annual department budget
- Analyzes financial performance of thedepartment by comparing actual performance to planned performance, identifying variances, and initiating correction action
- Assists with maintaining product and service quality standardsby investigating issues and initiating corrective action
- Managesordering, receiving, storing and inventory of all department related products
- Assists with monitoring and upholding procedures for control of supplies, keys, monies and credit
- Ensures department reporting is completed promptly and accurately
- Assists in monitoring and upholding procedures for safety of guests and hotel team members
- Remains current on industry trends and local market activities
- Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
